April is always a busy time for us. As gardens spring into life, we spring into action. Although autumn is a brilliant time to plant – giving plants the winter to establish healthy roots – spring is, understandably, when a lot of people turn their attention to their gardens and outdoor spaces and it’s also a great time to put things in the ground. As the weather gets better and better too, it’s a beautiful time to get outside and start transforming your outdoor space.
Since we appeared on Dragons Den in February, orders have been flying in and we’ve been so grateful for that. We’ve been very grateful too for the patience from any customers still waiting for their plants to arrive. We’re working through them as quickly as we can from our London hub. The hub is a new site for us and it’s made such a difference to our ability to get plants delivered quickly, efficiently, and safely to avoid them getting damaged. We’re really proud of our packaging. It’s designed to keep plants safe, while being 100% recycled, recyclable and reusable.
Another thing we really love about our new hub is the constant stream of plants coming through the door, allowing us to see the changing seasons in real time. It’s genuinely quite extraordinary watching things change week to week. At the moment Tiarellas are looking fantastic, and so are the fresh fronds on Dryopteris – but next week it’ll be something completely different, which is the beauty of our designs. We believe there’s always something happening in a garden, always something worth your attention – from the smallest sprout to the tallest tree, and we’ve put together our designs to mirror that rolling interest through the seasons.
A gorgeous Tiarella – from our Cottage theme. They work brilliantly in shade or partial shade.
Behind the scenes, we’ve also been doing lots of work in our Dig Studio – our Bespoke Design service.
This project in West London has been a joy to put together. We’ve been working with some truly wonderful clients to transform their outdoor space, helping them with the full design, hard landscaping and planting. We’re looking forward to sharing some photos of the planting once it’s complete but here is a work in progress in the meantime! Projects like this one are a real pleasure – as we love being involved in creating and transforming an outdoor space from start to finish.
Finally, this month has also been a big month for our newest theme The Jewel Garden – which is available exclusively on QVC where we’ve started selling some of our products. It’s been a really exciting experience – though, not going to lie, a little daunting appearing on live television!
The Jewel Garden, as we say on QVC, evokes a lush, romantic paradise with vibrant, gem-like hues. It comes packed with elegant plants in a symphony of opulent shades, accompanied by dramatic, textural foliage. We’re looking forward to sharing a bit more about it over on our Instagram soon.
That’s all for the last month! We’re about to really get into the swing of our busiest time of year – late spring and summer – so will have plenty more updates for you next time.
