Meet the team

Alexandra Hollingsworth

Alex, a Dig co-founder, grew up in the English countryside, surrounded by beautiful gardens and keen gardeners.  All was taken for granted until she took on a large neglected garden in Ireland, at which point she realised she had inherited the family passion.

Alex gained a Distinction in her Post-Graduate Diploma in Garden Design, and also holds an RHS Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture.

Soon after training, Alex won ’Super Garden’ – a TV show for new garden designers in Ireland, and has since had show gardens at Ireland’s ‘Bloom’ and BBC ‘Gardeners’ World Live’.  After working for Mazzullo + Russell, a leading London design practice, Alex ran her own successful practice, before joining the founding team at Dig.

We recently had our SW London garden totally transformed by Dig. We chose The Classic theme and it looks stunning. They were knowledgeable and professional from the start

Fabienne Maitland Robinson

Gardens have always been a big part of Fabienne’s life, beginning as an appreciation for the outdoors inherited by her grandparents, to viewing them through an artist’s lens through studying Art History, to then re-training as a garden designer years later at KLC School of Design, specialising in planting design.

She would describe her style as a versatile, woodland aesthetic, with a design focus on plants that bring texture and various shades of calming colours such as greens, whites and purples.

Her favourite part of the design process is translating client’s ideas into tangible design solutions and planting schemes.

In a world where we've unfortunately come to expect mediocre customer service, these guys are excellent. Fabienne and team clearly love what they do and it shows in the end result. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Serena Fremantle

Serena graduated from Inchbald School of Design in 2012 and went on to teach part time as a studio tutor for two years. She worked for a number of years with celebrated designer Jo Thompson and was also part of Jo’s planting team at RHS Chelsea for 6 consecutive years.

In 2015, Serena’s own Chelsea Garden ‘The Trugmakers Garden’ won a prestigious gold medal. She has gone on to design many large and small gardens for private clients and property developers, is a garden guide for private tours around Bowood House Gardens and has more recently given talks on the ‘Fundamentals of Garden Design’.

When not in her studio she is probably walking her dog, travelling or at a music festival.

Serena and the Dig team came highly recommended and I can see why. Knowledgeable, creative and fair.

Jenny Teutsch

After 10 years problem-solving as a business consultant, Jenny decided to switch her problem-solving to people’s gardens. She trained in Horticulture at Capel Manor College, was an apprentice to the Head Gardener on the Foreign Secretary’s Chevening Estate, and completed her diploma in Garden Design with the National Design Academy. Jenny has since worked as a designer for RHS Chelsea gold winners, Belderbos.

Jenny loves designing gardens that create an extra ‘room’ for your house. Space is often such a premium and so she thinks it’s important to make your outdoor area work practically for your life (pets, kids, busy work, and so on), whilst still looking great.

Alongside her design role, Jenny is also Chief Operating Officer at Dig.

I get comments on how beautiful my garden is all the time, and this is entirely down to what Jenny and Dig helped me to achieve.

Project Case Studies

Urban Jungle

Dig Studio Transform Project

An early Dig project - we fully re-designed a West London garden to introduce bold shapes, textures, alongside spaces for entertaining. Considered pathways guide you through the multiple spaces, encouraging you to discover every corner.

Natural Lines

Dig Studio Refresh Project

With the bones of the landscaping for this urban garden with a central, winding path , Dig stepped in to provide an organic, flowing design and planting plan that brought natural synergy throughout.

Mediterranean Escape

Dig Studio Transform Project

A combination of gentle elegance and evergreen formality, this full garden re-design created a versatile, Med-inspired space that is practical as it is beautiful.

Vibrant Roof Terrace

Dig Studio Refresh Project

We undertake a lot of projects for customers working with a balcony or roof terrace. Here, we combined elegant, structural plants with pops of colour for a characterful finish

Nordic Beauty

Dig Studio Refresh Project

Reena Simon's stunning Scandi-inspired home deserved a garden to match... we were happy to oblige, with this becoming the canvas for our ethereal Nordic theme.

Inside Out

Dig Studio Transform Project

The owners had crafted a beautiful home, with large show windows looking out onto the small garden. We designed and delivered an outdoor space not only impressed, but created natural flow from the interiors to the exterior.

Shapes & Surfaces

Dig Studio Refresh Project

An interesting project where we embraced existing walls, terraces and materials to create a Cottage-inspired garden space that felt like it had been there forever.

Nature First

Dig Studio Transform Project

A wonderful project that turned a blank canvas into a elegant family garden that prioritises nature with its clover lawns, natural materials & pollinators.

Elegant Evolution

Dig Studio Refresh Project

An interesting brief where the need was to rejuvenate and evolve a large, existing garden that had lost its charm over the years. Careful consideration on plant choices and zonal design brought it back to its former glories.
