About the role

An exciting and unique opportunity to work with a start-up garden design business from its inception.  Dig was set up by a team of four friends to deliver off-the-shelf and semi-bespoke garden designs via an online platform.  We target a young and time-poor demographic, who are often creating a garden for the first time.  We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic garden designer to join our growing team, and help us in our mission to make it easier for people to create beautiful gardens.

This role will develop as the company grows and you’ll be a crucial part of that journey.  Initially the role will include:

  • Interpreting client briefs, conducting site surveys and creating base plans in Vectorworks
  • Creating garden designs and planting plans with the assistance of pre-planned templates
  • Feeding back on and developing the in-house templates and processes
  • Sourcing plants, managing orders, delivery schedules and substitutions
  • Visits to nurseries and to our plant holding site in Hampshire
  • Managing finances, including reconciliation of planting budgets
  • Involvement in business development, for example content creation, website development, marketing and strategy

Skills Required:

  • Diploma level qualification in Garden Design or Landscape Design
  • 3+ years industry experience
  • Passion for plants and design, with good core plant knowledge
  • Strong technical skills, including Photoshop, InDesign, Vectorworks and Microsoft Office
  • Flexible, reliable and confident, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills

Other requirements:

  • Full, clean driving licence, ideally with own car (fuel coverage included for Dig-related activity)
  • Personal laptop or computer, ideally with Vectorworks Landmark licence

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary, based on experience
  • 25 days paid holiday and discretionary annual bonus
  • On-going training and development
